NewsletterApril 30, 2010 Aloha BCC family! Pray all is well with you and yours! I have increased the BCC database, so for many of you this may be your first BCC newsletter from me. Thanks to our new BCC Fan Page on facebook, I have been able to reach out to more BCC members and many of them have found us!! Thank God for communication technology! For those who are new to this newsletter- this newsletter is to let you know what is happening in BCC, any events, announcements, retreat schedules, sharing of your closest moments, etc... If you are new to this newsletter and would like to share how your BCC retreat experience has affected your life and relationship with God, please send them to me and I will glady share it with the BCC family. Hearing your moments lifts all of us up and you never know who it might be helping! Kaala Coleman and Mela Kim are very busy this week preparing for this upcoming weekend April 30-May 2, 2010. They have about 30 participants. The team has been preparing for about 7 weeks and the are all eager to see the fruits of their labor. Thank you Team for your commitment and sacrifices you have made for Gods people. The speakers for this 92nd retreat are: Sin- Jerome Kanalulu My Personal Relationship with Jesus- Henrietta Hamachi The Call of a Christian- Landon Varyuga Family Live in a Christian Community- Kathy Sniffen and Justin Sniffen (mother and son) You are my Witness- Noreen Madela (If you would like to know their times of speaking, email me!) Please pray for the team and for the participants that this retreat will bring healing, miracles, and stronger and more personal relationship with our Lord! And If you can, please come out for the Morning Serenade on Sunday at 6:30 am. Yes, 6:30 am!! At many of the retreats I have been hearing how the morning serenade was their closest moments, seeing all those smiling faces singing to them. Many are amazed that people would get up that early just to come out to sing for them!! I'm sure many of you remember that too and how it touched your heart! Hoku Rosa is the next youth director for their retreat in July. She is forming her team. If anyone would like to help (we can always use the adult help) please contact me and I will let her know. Youth retreats are always full!! So they can really use the help! If you have never had a chance to work with the youth, its something you should try. Its very rewarding and for me, it makes me feel Young again! My committee and I are so excited in our preparation for the 25 Years of BCC in Hawaii. Its a celebration of Faith, Family, Fun, Fellowship and Our Future!! We have set the date for October 23rd and it will be at the Pearl City Peninsula Community Hall. There will be lots of entertainment (BCC is so blessed with talent!!), dinner, activities for the kids, Bingo, Raffle, Silent Auction, and Photo Shots!! The cost is $10 a person (12 and under free). It will be a roast beef and chicken dinner. I will be at this coming retreat on Sunday selling tickets for it, so you can see me there if you want to purchase tickets. For those who are in cell group, I will be visiting your community to take a group photo that will be apart of our slide show presentation and also to sell tickets. I will let you know a week in advance when I plan to come. We in the committee are asking if anyone out there has BCC retreat pictures that they would like to share for the celebration to please send them to us. You will get them back, I promise!! We are also asking for any donations of money or prizes for our raffles and silent auction that are part of our fundraising. This celebration is also a fundraiser for BCC. In BCC we never turn any one away that cannot afford the retreat and we use these funds to help pay for their retreat. God always provides for us and helps us to pay our bills. We will also be selling our BCC 25 years t shirts there. For 25 years, God has used BCC to bring people back to Him and His church. Thousands have made our retreats and for many it was life changing and has even saved lives. If you have been blessed by your BCC experience, please continue to pray for us and our future, and share your blessings if you can. I'll close this letter with one of our BCC covenants (promises that the BCC communities and BCC team Try to live by. Its a Christian Way of Life)- The Covenant of Prayer- "I covenant to pray for you daily believing that our caring Father wishes his children to pray for one another and ask Him for the blessings they need." Once you have made a retreat you are always apart of us, our family, whether you stay connected or not. You are always in our prayers. Our prayer is that wherever your journey takes you, that it is a journey towards God! Gods Blessings to you All! Sheree Pokipala ps.
